| Accessing Community Builder profiles from GeoCommunity module? |

Community Builder suite for Joomla! seems to be very popular among Joomla! users. Naturally some of you have expressed that the GeoCommunity module will be nice if it will access Community Builder profiles. There are certain nice additional features that could be brought out of the combo. The GeoCommunity module could display the user’s photo in the information balloon when a marker is clicked, among other possibilities. Lately I have been thinking about this, but I am not sure how popular that would be among potential GeoCommunity users. I installed CB on one of my sites once. Personally I didn’t like CB much. In fact I removed it soon afterwards.
The other alternative is to have a user profiler on GeoCommunity itself. But this will require writing a GeoCommunity component, if I were to provide some decent backend management for the administrator. This might complicate the module for the novice users. My aim thus far has been to keep the GeoCommunity mod as simple as possible, with minimal configurable settings, just the essentials. I really like to hear what you guys think about the whole idea of CB integration. |
