We are pleased to announce that GeoCommunity 1.0.4 beta is now available for preview here http://www.freelance-park.com/joomla/component/option,com_geo_community/Itemid,42/ . This extension is with Community Builder profile support, which links users on the map to their Community Builder profiles. As the database is a little inconsistent at the moment, some problems locating users on the map may arise, but eventually will go away.

GeoCommunity for Joomla! is an Joomla! component and a mambot. The mambot collects user information when users visit the website. (P.S Some GeoVisitors module users wanted to collect Geo information without displaying the map, well this is what you asked for)

The component displays the collected information using a Google map. Visitors are indicated by a marker which corresponds to the recency of the visitor. Recent visitors are indicated by lighter colors.

Features are a glance:

  • Component with Ajax technology to allow for a richer user interface with no page refreshes.
  • Allow customers to see recent visitors to your website at glance on a Google map
  • Search users, with Ajax live search
  • User photo and country flag
  • Photos shared from Community Builder, no need to manage multiple profiles

Extensive statistics for the administrator. The administrator backend has been rewritten with Ajax features.
  •  Recent visitors
  •  Most active visitors
  •  Most active cities
  •  Most unresolvable IPs

  • Improvements from previous version

Marker information is now transmitted to Google maps via XML. This among other things reduces a lot of information that's injected into the HTML page.

    Availbility

The GeoCommunity extension will be available mid/late September.

    Pricing

The extensions will made available for purchase at £10. This small fee is to support the continued development of the extension.
